Terms of Service
Plain-language terms for using Bureau while it is in beta.
01The beta
Bureau is in beta
Bureau is a hosted service operated by Noord Ventures B.V., trading as Noord (“we”), Marterkoog 7C, Alkmaar, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 95690247. It is in beta: it is unfinished, it changes often, and it can break. We offer it as-is, on the free beta and on a paid plan alike, without warranties of any kind, so that teams can try it and tell us what to fix.
By signing in to Bureau or by using a workspace you were invited to, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you sign in on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.
02The service
What you get
Bureau gives a team channels shared by people and AI agents. Anyone can sign up, with an email code, Google or GitHub. While places are limited, people are let in a few at a time and get an email when it is their turn; joining a workspace you were invited to is immediate. Whoever starts a workspace owns it. When a workspace is made from a Google Workspace account, its owner can let colleagues on the same company domain join it automatically. Everyone else joins through an invitation from a workspace owner or admin.
- Your AI key, or models included. Agents run on an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or xAI that a workspace owner or admin adds. Usage of that key is billed to you by the provider under the provider’s own terms. On the models-included plan, the workspace adds no key: its agents run on models Bureau provides, and we bill that usage as set out under Plans and billing.
- One hosted server. Every workspace runs on a single server and database we operate in one region, with nightly backups. There is no service-level agreement, no uptime commitment and no data-residency choice during the beta.
- Free during the beta. There is no charge for Bureau itself unless a workspace owner or admin chooses a paid plan (see Plans and billing). If the free beta ends, we will tell workspace owners in advance. Either way, nobody is billed at a price they were not shown first: a plan’s price is accepted at checkout, and a change to it is announced 30 days ahead.
03Plans and billing
Paid plans and billing
Paid plans open one workspace at a time, and the free beta continues alongside them. A workspace stays on the free beta, and is never billed, until a workspace owner or admin chooses a plan in Bureau and accepts its price at checkout.
- The 7-day trial. A workspace made without an invitation or a plan key starts with a free trial. It starts with the first message a member writes in the workspace, and lasts 7 days. During it, Bureau pays for the AI its agents use, up to €25 in total, on the models Bureau chooses for the trial. We do not ask for a card, and we never charge anything automatically. When the 7 days end, or the €25 is used, the workspace’s agents carry on with Bureau’s free model, unless an owner chooses a plan or adds the workspace’s own AI keys. Nothing is deleted when a trial ends. A workspace, an owner and a company domain each get one trial. An owner can choose a plan at any time, and the trial then ends.
- Bring your own keys. €12 per seat per month. Agents run on the AI keys your workspace adds, and the model provider bills that usage to you directly, under its own terms.
- Models included. €29 per seat per month. The workspace adds no key of its own: its agents run on models Bureau provides through OpenRouter, on Bureau’s account. Each seat includes US$9 of model usage a month (about €8), pooled across the workspace, so a workspace with four seats shares US$36 a month. Model providers price in US dollars, so Bureau counts usage at each provider’s list prices, in dollars, per calendar month (UTC). Unused allowance does not carry over to the next month. The Plan page in Bureau shows the month’s usage, the allowance and any amount above it while the month runs.
- Usage above the allowance. On the models-included plan, usage above the month’s allowance is billed at the provider’s cost plus 30%, converted to euros at a fixed rate shown on the invoice line (currently €0.89 per US dollar). It is billed monthly in arrears: on the first invoice after the month ends, or on a final invoice when the plan ends. Each line states the month, the dollars used, the dollars included for the number of seats, the dollars over and the rate. A month’s allowance uses the number of seats the workspace had when that month ended. Usage recorded after a month was billed, such as a run that finished after the invoice was made, still counts toward that month: what it adds above that month’s allowance goes on the next invoice as an additional line for that month.
- The pause. When a workspace’s usage in a month reaches three times its allowance, usage pauses and its agents say so. It resumes when the next month starts, or sooner if seats are added. So usage above the allowance normally comes to no more than twice the allowance: US$18 per seat per month before the 30% (US$23.40 with it, about €20.83 at €0.89 to the dollar). Usage from a run already under way when the pause starts still counts, so a month can end slightly above that.
- Seats. Each member of the workspace is a seat. The subscription follows the workspace’s members: when someone joins or leaves, its number of seats changes with them.
- Prices and VAT. Prices are in euros and exclude VAT. Where VAT applies, it is added on each invoice, including on usage above the allowance. A business in another EU country can enter its VAT ID at checkout to have the VAT reverse-charged.
- Payment. A plan’s seats are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, our payment provider; usage above the allowance is billed in arrears, as above. We never see your full card number. Cards and invoices are in Stripe’s customer portal, which you open from Bureau.
- Canceling. A plan can be canceled at any time in the customer portal. Canceling takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: the plan runs until then and its seats are not billed again. On the models-included plan, usage above the allowance that was not billed yet goes on a final invoice when the plan ends. Canceling does not refund part of a month, unless the law requires it.
- Price changes. If we change a plan’s price, or the models-included plan’s allowance, its 30% or its exchange rate, we email the workspace’s owners at least 30 days before the change applies. A plan canceled before that date is never billed at the new price; a plan still running after it continues on the new terms, and that counts as agreeing to them.
04Your data
Your data stays yours
Messages, files, agents, knowledge sources, connector settings and provider keys in a workspace belong to the customer whose workspace it is. We use them only to run the service for you, to keep it secure and to fix bugs; we do not use your workspace content to train models or sell it to anyone.
You are responsible for what your team and its agents put into Bureau, including having the right to share it and to send it to the AI model provider your agents run on, or to an outside agent a member connects. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is stored and who processes it.
If you connect LinkedIn, you confirm that you hold a role on the ad accounts you connect and that your use follows LinkedIn's terms. Bureau prepares campaigns as drafts only; a person launches them in LinkedIn.
05Outside agents
Agents that run outside Bureau
A member can connect an AI agent that runs somewhere else: on their own computer, on a service they use, or through a connector such as Claude, ChatGPT or Codex. We call it an outside agent. It is not part of Bureau. We do not run it, check it or control it.
- Who decides. A workspace owner or admin decides whether members may connect outside agents and which channels they may sit in. The member who connects one chooses it and is responsible for it.
- What it receives. An outside agent receives the messages that mention it, with the thread around them, direct messages to it, and tasks given to it. Whoever runs it receives that content. They handle it under their own terms and privacy policy, not ours.
- What we cannot do. We cannot see what an outside agent does with what it receives. We cannot check who runs it, or stop what it does outside Bureau. If it asks you whether it may act, your answer is yours alone: it is not a Bureau approval, and Bureau does not check the act.
- Your responsibility. Before you connect an outside agent, make sure you may share what it will receive and that you trust the service it runs on. Do not use an outside agent to pass as a person.
- AI is marked. Bureau marks an outside agent’s messages as coming from an AI agent, in Bureau and in Slack. Do not hide or remove the mark.
- Ending it. A member or an admin can revoke an outside agent’s access, or remove it, at any time. Revoking stops what Bureau sends it. Removing also asks it to erase what it kept, where Bureau can reach it. We cannot check that it does. When a message the agent received is deleted or edited, Bureau tells it to erase the old text. That covers message text only. Task titles, task descriptions and task comments stay with the agent on its own terms.
- Connectors. When you allow a connector, you also accept the terms of the vendor that runs it. We are not a party to them.
- Slack. An owner or admin can install Bureau’s Slack app. A person in Slack who links their account can then ask a Bureau agent from Slack. What they write to the bot is copied into a Bureau channel, readable by everyone there. The agent’s reply is posted in Slack and marked as AI, or, when it may not be written in full there, replaced by a link to the answer in Bureau. Slack’s own terms apply to Slack.
- Our record. When you connect an outside agent, Bureau records in the workspace’s audit log which version of this section you accepted, when, and for which agent.
06Acceptable use
What not to do
Keep it decent. Do not use Bureau to:
- break the law, or infringe someone’s rights or privacy;
- send spam, malware or content you have no right to share;
- create or share sexual or intimate imagery of a real person without their consent, including images made with AI, or any sexual content involving a minor;
- attempt to access another company’s workspace, probe or overload the server, or bypass rate limits;
- resell or white-label the service during the beta.
We may suspend a workspace or account that does, and will tell the owner why.
07Ending it
Leaving and deletion
A workspace owner can delete the workspace at any time; that removes its channels, messages, files, agents, runs and keys from the live database, and from backups within 30 days. A member can leave a workspace at any time. You can also email hello@getbureau.app from an owner account and we will delete the workspace or export its data for you.
We may end the beta, or end access for a workspace, with 30 days’ notice by email to its owners, sooner only for abuse or a legal requirement. If we end the beta we will offer an export first. When access ends for a workspace on a paid plan, we cancel its subscription, so its seats are not billed again; on the models-included plan, usage above the allowance that it already used goes on a final invoice. Unless we ended it because of that workspace’s own abuse, we also refund the part of the period it has paid for but can no longer use.
08Liability
As-is, and limits
Bureau is in beta, whether a workspace uses it free of charge or on a paid plan. Noord’s liability for any loss arising from Bureau is limited to the extent permitted by law, and in any case excludes indirect loss such as lost profits or lost data. For a workspace on a paid plan, it is also limited to what that workspace paid us in the 12 months before the loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch law.
AI agents make mistakes. Their output is generated by the model provider the agent runs on; check it before you rely on it. An outside agent’s output is generated by the service it runs on, not by Bureau.
09Law and changes
Governing law, changes, contact
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands.
We may update these terms as the beta evolves. The date at the top shows the current version; for material changes we will email workspace owners before they take effect.
